Medievel Castle Afternoon TourMedievel Leeds Castle in Kent

We leave London through the picturesque Kent countryside, Garden of England. Travelling on the old Pilgrims' Route, used by the characters of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales.

LEEDS CASTLE Tour From London Ticket Web - Is built on two natural islands within a lake and is named after Ledian, Chief Minister of Ethelbert IV, King of Kent, who built a fortress here in AD 857. The castle was originally built of wood, but rebuilt in stone by the Normans in 1119. Described by Lord Conway as "the loveliest Castle in the world", this historic moated castle surrounded by 500 acres of beautifully landscaped parkland is situated in the heart of the Kent countryside.

A fine collection of historic furnishings, paintings and tapestries fill the rooms and hallways of the Castle, while attractions within the grounds include formal gardens - a maze with secret underground grotto, an aviary of exotic birds, show greenhouses and the country's only museum of antique dog collars, some of which date back over four hundred years.

ENGLISH CREAM TEA - Your trip includes a delicious, typically English Cream Tea in the Fairfax Hall, a 17th century tithe barn, and adjoining Terrace Room which offers stunning views across the moat to the Castle. You can also enjoy seeing the Maze, the Grotto, some rare birds in the Aviary including the famous black swans on the lake. This tour is unescorted as guides are provided by Leeds Castle.

This tour finishes at approximately 06.30pm.
