The Mousetrap Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap has kept audiences guessing for four decades. Now in its 53rd year, this world record breaking production continues to enthrall, to entertain and to thrill audiences still flocking to the St Martin's Theatre from every corner of the globe. In her own inimitable style, Dame Agatha Christie has created an atmosphere of shuddering suspense and a brilliantly intricate plot where murder lurks around every corner...The Mousetrap Set Comes Down - But The Show Goes On! The home of the world's longest running play, The Mousetrap, was auctioned to raise money for charity in June 1999. But the show went on , without missing a performance! The old set was dismantled after the performance on Saturday evening, 19th June 1999, and the show went on, with its new set, on Monday 21st June 1999, for the 19,382 performance, to take Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap on towards its second half century. The charming setting designed by Anthony Holland has been the home of The Mousetrap since 1952, first at The Ambassadors Theatre for 21 years, and since then at the St. Martin's Theatre. As well as the original canvases, the play still uses original features such as the wind machine - and the clock on the mantle-piece has been there for the entire 50 years! The Mousetrap will keep these original features on the replacement set.. | | | Book Now | | | Currency Converter Click the link below XE.com Personal Currency Assistant™ | Contents |

| What's New | The Mousetrap Whodunit by Agatha Christie. Directed by David Turner. The world's longest running play of any kind. Now in its 53rd Year |
Theatre Review | The old set was auctioned to raise money for charity - David Turner, Artistic Director for The Mousetrap for the past eight years, commented: "We hope the set will be bought by one of the many avid Mousetrap and Agatha Christie fans. This auction does also provide an opportunity for aspiring actors to own, and act on, what is perhaps the most well-known set in the world." |
