| Round the Horn Revisited is a Comedy adapted by Brian Cooke from the radio scripts by Barry Took, Marty Feldman, Brian Cooke & Johnnie Mortimer. Directed by Michael Kingsbury. Round the Horne... Revisited, is a riotous theatre version of the cult 60's radio show. Faithfully adapted for the stage by Brian Cooke, the last remaining writer of the original shows. Hilarious though the many recordings are, the actual live shows were unforgettable. Come and hear songs from Rambling Syd Rumpo, mint fresh Julian and Sandy along with the absolute best of the original scripts and parodies. Relive ninety minutes of probably the filthiest and funniest ever radio series live on stage! | ROUND THE HORNE... REVISITED The Venue 5 Leicester Place, Leicester Square, London.

| | What's New | Round the Horn Revisited Closed April 2005 The hit comedy Round the Horne... Revisited at The Venue will present a special Christmas edition of the show from 29 November 2004 to 22 January 2005. The show will have an official opening night on 2 December. The special Christmas edition has also been compiled by Brian Cooke and feature a wealth of festive-themed, previously un-staged sketches and songs created for the original radio series. I surrendered completely to this joyously filthy reminder of a cult radio show that lightened our Sunday lunchtimes in the late 1960s... The success of Michael Kingsbury's production lies in having found genuine sound-alikes and look-alikes. The Guardian |
Theatre Reviews | Round the Horn Revisited I can think of no show now running that delivers so handsomely when it comes to hilarity as Round the Horne Revisited... If ever I saw an unstoppable cult hit in the making, this is it... Two qualities particularly shine in this loving tribute - how superbly funny these scripts still are, and how brilliantly the cast impersonates the original performers. The Daily Telegraph
Cook has devised a wonderful show as a visual recreation of two recording sessions. So we see how these performers operated with scripts, microphones, bleak schoolroom chairs in a BBC recording studio and a special effects guy in the corner. The show's genius, inherited from The Goons, was to make a mockery of the medium and use the limitations of radio as its greatest imaginative asset. The Daily Mail |
